How to Use
Overview
Synergy uniPoint Connector can be used in the following Visual windows:
- Customer Maintenance
- Customer Order Entry
- Part Maintenance
- Vendor Maintenance
- Purchase Order Entry
- Manufacturing Window
The tool allows you to search your uniPoint database for information that matches what you have open in the Visual window. Double-clicking on any of these items will open them in uniPoint.
Depending on the type of search criteria, you will see different results. For example, searching by Part ID will display NCs, Doc Controls, Inspection Records, and Inspection Specs, while searching by an Order ID will display NCs, Inspection Records, and Requests.
If no criteria is specified, you have the option for Synergy uniPoint Connector display all of the records of each relevant record type.
Customer Maintenance & Vendor Maintenance
If you open up Customer Maintenance or Vendor Maintenance, you will see a toolbar icon with the uniPoint logo. This will launch the "uniPoint Records for Customer" or "uniPoint Records for Vendor" macro respectively. If you have a customer or vendor loaded, you will see a list of all of the NCs, CAs, Doc Controls, Inspection Records, and Requests associated with the customer/vendor ID.
Part Maintenance
Part Maintenance works the same way, where you can click the toolbar icon to launch the "uniPoint Records for Part" macro. This displays the NCs, Doc Controls, Inspection Records, and Inspection Specifications associated with the part ID.
Customer Order Entry & Purchase Order Entry
Unlike the other Visual windows, you will see three uniPoint icons in the toolbar for CO/PO Entry, as well as three "uniPoint Records" macros in the macro list.
The first one, "uniPoint Records for Order", displays NCs, Inspection Records, and Requests associated with the loaded order ID.
The second one, "uniPoint Records for Customer/Vendor", displays NCs, CAs, Doc Controls, Inspection Records, and Requests associated with the loaded customer ID or vendor ID.
The third one, "uniPoint Records for Items in Order", displays NCs, Doc Controls, Inspection Records, and Inspection Specifications associated with any of the part IDs found on the lines of the order.
Manufacturing Window
The manufacturing window does not have toolbar icons for Synergy uniPoint Connector; you will need to select the macros from within the Header or Operation window.

You will see the macros for both windows listed in either window. Make sure to click the one matching the window you have open, or the search may not work correctly.
The "uniPoint Records for Job (Header)" macro displays NCs, Inspection Records, and Requests with the job ID matching the work order's base ID.
The "uniPoint Records for Item (Header)" macro displays NCs, Doc Controls, Inspection Records, and Requests associated with the part ID in the header.
Operation
Narrowing down your search to the operation level only displays NCs and Inspection Records. The "uniPoint Records for Job (Operation)" macro searches based on the WO base ID and the operation sequence number.
"uniPoint Options for Item (Operation)" works the same way, but it also takes part ID into consideration if it exists.
Options
The uniPoint options macro can be found in all of the Visual windows listed above. This opens a dialog box where you can configure your uniPoint credentials in Synergy uniPoint Connector. These should be set up for you during the installation process.
