ADMINISTRATION 

INSTALLING 

Use the following link to download the setup file. Once downloaded follow these steps to install. 

1. Run SmartViewsSchedulerSetup.exe 
   

2. Click Next 
   

3. Use the default path or change as needed 
   

4. Click Install 
   

5. Lastly, click the Finish button to complete the install. 
   

LICENSING 

Request for a license key can be made via email. Send your request to incident@synergyresources.net and included the product name, company name and local Windows domain name with your request. 

If this is the first time running the application the about screen will automatically open for you, enter you license key. If you need to update your key, open the about screen from the menu Help  About. 

1. Enter you license key in the textbox 
   

2. To register the key, click on the checkmark to the right. 
   
3. You will receive a message box if the key was successful or failed. 
   

UPDATING 

1. To update go to Help  About 
   

2. Click on the link – Check for Updates 
   

3. The application will check to see if there are any new published updates.  
   

4. The next screen will confirm if you are on the latest version or if there is an update show a list of features & defects that are a part of the update. 
   
5. Click close or follow the prompts to update your software. 
   

a. If updating the application will auto download the update and install. 

SETTINGS 

1. SmartViews tab 
   

1. These setting connect the scheduler engine to your SmartViews account. You will need to enter in values for Company Key, User Name and Password. 
   

2. SMTP tab 
   

1. When emails are sent this is the connection and account information used to for your SMTP server 
   

3. Scheduler tab 
   

1. Event Interval = This is the number of seconds between each lookup of new events that need to be executed. 
   
2. Event Window = This is the number of minutes the service will look back to find noncompleted events. 
   

SMARTVIEW SCHEDULER 

3. Debug = When checked, addition logging information will be logged to the event log. 
   

USING

CREATING A NEW EVENT 

1. Right click in the time slot you would like to schedule a report to send 
   

2. A new event window will open – fill in the following tabs:

SmartView Tab – Export Options

When creating or editing an event, the SmartView tab controls how data will be exported and delivered.

Grid/Pivot Export Format
From the Export Format dropdown, you can now select from the following options:

• XLSX – Modern Excel format (recommended for most use cases).

• XLS – Legacy Excel format (use when compatibility with older Excel versions is required).

• CSV – Comma-separated values file. Suitable for integrations, imports into other applications, or when a flat-file is required.

• Text – Plain text file with configurable delimiter. Useful for tab, pipe, or custom-delimited export needs.

Delimiter
When CSV or Text is selected, an additional field appears to specify the delimiter (e.g., comma, tab, pipe).

Example Workflow

1. Create or edit an event.

2. Navigate to the SmartView tab.

3. Under Grid/Pivot Export, choose the desired format (XLSX, XLS, CSV, Text).

4. (Optional) Configure a delimiter if CSV or Text is selected.

5. Complete the rest of the event configuration (schedule, email, pre/post scripts).

Notes

• Earlier Scheduler builds supported only XLS. As of build 1000.1500 and above, CSV and Text are fully supported.

• All export formats can be attached to an email or saved to a designated output path as configured in the Scheduler.
